The Red Flame Hunters are an all-youth Mardi Gras Indian Tribe, passing down one of New Orleans’ unique cultural traditions to a new generation. Every year, Ed Buckner and Big Chief Tugga lead the tribe in designing and building elaborately feathered and beaded suits to wear on Mardi Gras Day. We made this piece to help the tribe’s fundraising efforts.
